I would just like to thank all of the people who congratulated me on picking up my fretless RSD. A few mentioned how long I have talked about picking up some iteration of a Sadowsky bass. The one I got was the most budget model and I honestly did not expect much of a response, but folks saying they were happy for me has really made this a great week. I have had my arguments and run ins on TalkBass, but it is great to know that so many in this community can feel that joy for another person. I am glad I share a bass bond with you folks. At times, I find myself playing along with a song and I think I need to be doing something more important with my time, but nothing gives me joy like playing music on my basses. I know you all know how I feel.
Very happy for you Doc. You truly are one of the positives here on TB. Now we just gotta get you on a new motorcycle LOL
You post here all the time and you’re always supportive and positive. Every piece of evidence you’ve ever given us suggests you’re a nice guy. If we can’t be happy for you, who can we be happy for? Enjoy your new bass. I’m sure you’ll play the heck out of it.
Doc, You and your passion about basses are part of what make Talkbass my favorite cul-de-sac of the internet. Enjoy that RSD! Best Wishes, Bones
@Dr. Cheese I’m living vicariously through your videos until I get my own Sadowsky! C’mon Jason! Where is it?
There may be some people who, at the end of their lives think, "I wish I'd played less music" - but I bet they're few and far between. Enjoy your new bass and make yourself happy (mental health is as important as physical health).
Doc, you're honestly and sincerely one of my favorite parts of being on TB. I didn't comment on your RSD fretless post, but I *am* truly happy for you, and I'm glad you're here.
Many of us feel the same in regards to our own playing. But that in no way should diminish the joy of making the music we can. Rock on Doc!
You deserve every compliment and positive comment coming your way . I’m always happy when others are blessed.
Doc, I read, but did not comment, on your thread, but that didn't mean I was not feeling your positive vibe and thinking positive thoughts. I find the vast majority of your posts to be refreshing and, certainly, a reaffirmation that there are still really good people who share this small planet. You're a positive influence on the TB community. I hope you continue to reach folks who chose to emulate your positive example for many years to come. Best wishes. Koog
I met Doc a couple of times in person at bass get-togethers at Fazio's in Ellisville, Missouri (outside St. Louis) and I can say he's just as nice in person as he is on TalkBass. Congrats on your new bass! Bob
