sorry to barge in- but Nino- i have a question- is it a good idea to shiled the bass with copper shielding, i mean, even the pickup routes?? i seriously considered the Sad pre- but iwas raised on mid controls...im using dimarzio ultra j's

  7. Not Nino, but I'll jump in on this one. I've never found shielding to hurt, but if you're going to shield the pickup routes keep in mind that all the shielding must be connected to a common ground to do you any good. Just copper tape in the routes without connecting it to the electronic cavity's shielding wouldn't help at the pickups, and it may even act as an antenna. If you have any plans to shield more than one bass, the graphtec shielding paint is pretty slick, paint it on it two coats, and you can just run a drop down the pickup wire routes and swab with a Q-tip to connect the shielded areas.
