One good pickup in the right place on a good bass can sound pretty awesome... :D

TYO is like the "Custom Shop" in Japan but the basses are only available for the Japanese market.

Nice bass, but I'm not a fan of blingy wood. As the Stones said, Paint It Black. :D

Very impressed with TYO. Hope I get a Japanese tour someday. I'll take a blank credit card. I do work with an artist who has been to Japan a number of times. I'll have to start bugging her.

  17. Sadowsky's have rarely appealed to me, not to this extent anyway.

That bass is amazing, everything works so well *drool*

I have one of the the most basic Metro basses available (natural ash with maple neck MS5) and it gets 90%+ of my gigging attention. It is an amazing bass and my favorite of the 9 nice basses I own.

I no longer look at Japanese instruments (Fender, Sadowsky or whatever) as inferior to American, European or even Canadian.

On a gig, my Metro actually sounds better than my Sadowsky NYC or my MIA Fender Precisions and Stingrays.
