So, this bass has been stuck in my head for a while. I don't know if I can make it happen, but I would love to own this one. I want to track down the current owner to see if we can make something work. Crowd source to the rescue.

This is a Roscoe SKB 3006 with a pretty unique bubinga top. It traded here on TB a couple of years ago. The new owner sold it on eBay after that, and that is the last I know about it.

If anyone knows who the current owner is, I would appreciate getting his/her contact info, or forwarding on my contact info. Thanks in advance, and here is the pic:

Yes. That one went through my collection. I sold it here. It was a very special bass. I don't remember who I sold it to.

Looks like you sold it to @Nine-and-three-Quarters.

Yep. I contacted him a while back, and he was the one that sold it on eBay.

Describe the tone. Those skinny soap bars sound good, but I have not seen them that close together before.

The PUs are described as Jazz but are actually hum canceling. That bass had a little more growl than the usual Roscoe, however, that top was probably a contributor to the tone. That is a thick top.

If I were the owner, I don’t think this would rub me the right way.

I hear you, but if the OP makes a money is no object offer it could rub him the right way.

That's putting it mildly. Never thought about having somebody come after me with regards to gear I own as a possible ramification of selling or buying anything on here, but I sure as hell won't now.

Just a friendly reminder: The title of this thread isn't "Broadcast to the world how thin-skinned I am."

If you want to discuss the dangers of public forums by posting in a public forum, resist the urge to post here, and start your own thread about it.

I didn't take the OP's intent as hunting the person down to pressure them into anything. If so, I would find it offensive as well. As described, I think he has seller's remorse and wants to take a shot at buying it back. There's this potential anywhere you want to sell directly, if you are uncomfortable then don't sell directly.

If it is against TB rules, then of course it should be moderated out.

You do realize how thin-skinned that sounds?

I just think would be weird for a seller to give out my information to anyone after a transaction has been completed.

I understand that some people could be uncomfortable with that, which is why I offered the option of passing along my information instead.

I am not trying to get info out of a seller. I am looking to get a message to the owner.

My hope is that someone here sees this thread, realizes "this is my friend Jack's bass!" or whatever, then lets Jack know that there is a potential buyer for something that he owns. Or maybe I get lucky enough that Jack sees this thread and contacts me directly.

  16. OP, It's a beautiful bass. I hope you'll be able to track it down again. I wouldn't mind owning it myself.

  18. There’s always asking Keith to come close in replicating it.
It certainly couldn’t have hurt to post here within reason because one of us may have seen it yesterday hanging for sale.
The present owner might be thinking of selling.
I hope we find and meet the loves of our lives like this. Bass or Mate. :)
I purchased a Roscoe from a wonderful seller. Eons ago. He PM’d me recently to let me know that if and when I do sell it he’d like to be first in line. We are a community and look out for each other.
COVID’s side effects make us crabby. It’s something I tell myself regularly. :)

FYI Keith has a superb piece of waterfall bubinga that he is currently building with. I just finalized my SKB Signature build params this morning.
