Found this smokin TOP clip ... Whew, what a workout at that tempo!
Wow, Rocco could give four bald babies enough hair to cover their heads for life with the amount of hair he had.
Smoking band wonderful so see clean footage of them young and afro'ed out,,,,,
BUT,,,What up with choosing that singer?
Is that Cris Tucker from Rush Hour/5th element?
Dam that was fast, lost some of the groove imo but Rocco is still playing it clean.
To everyone who has played this one live, that is FAST!!!!!
Awesome find. Thanks for sharing it!
Thanks for that. They are fantastic. That actually brought tears to my eyes, it's that good. The Band of Doom, for sure.
Rocco's always had killer chops. This doesn't seem too much faster than the album version. They always seem to play WIH a little slower live, so this is a nice change. Gotta love Lenny Pickett's dancing there...
I'm winded just watching it!
On another note, I was LMAO at Lenny Pickett dancing!! Now I know where Dan Ackroyd got his routine for the Blues Brothers!!
Very cool! thanks. Check out Marcus Miller's version on his album Marcus. It's ridiculous and at least as fast as this version. I know Rocco was the original on the tune.
That made my night!
I'm pretty sure that's not Lenny Pickett. That Brother cannot sing anywhere near as well as Lenny Pickett. I also noticed that Dave Garibladi was not the drummer either. Is that Chester Thompson?
He meant the saxophonist, Lenny Picket- altissimo wailer and MD for SNL!
And yeah, this singer's nothing like the one on the recording.
No no no...the lead singer is that one dude from the Warriors.
Warriors, come out to plaaaaaaayyyyyyy
That would be Cirus,,,,
"CAN YOU DIG IIIIIITTTTT!!!!!"
OOPS!!! I meant Lenny Williams, the singer!
Combined with Ruby Rap
Glad someone else knows who the Warriors are.
Lenny Pickett is the sax player with the huge afro. Ronnie Beck was on drums. Hellova drummer too. Not sure who the singer was.
edit: Singer is Hubert Tubbs.
I think the singers name is Edward McGee.
