I play all tenor 5-strings, and for fretted I really like DR loriders, and for fretless, Thomas Inkfeld Jazz-flats. Both have a strong adn clear sound. The high C does have a tendancy to go dead quicker than the other strings, however.

I don't use a high "C" on my 5's but I recently purchased a 6 string and I've already put on 3 sets of strings in 1-1/2 weeks looking for the best sound. Based on what I've tried, the DR Lo Rider nickels sound the best overall. The high "C" seems more balanced with the other strings. The other strings I tried were the DR Hi Beam Stainless and GHS Boomers (nickel).
