    Hi
I’m looking for options for a high mass bridge to swap out the old (5-screw) bend plate in my MIM p-bass.
Does anyone know if this Hipshot B style FM2 will fit (w/o drilling)?

FM2 is string through. You likely want the FM1. And yes the FM1 is direct fit.

Ok found it. Will probably use this one when I get my next fender/ fender style bridge that needs replacing. Thanks

The Fender looks nice too. And cheap! Also a good option.

Hmm. 9 oz B vs A 9.5 oz. Seems to me it is high mass.

This post: Hipshot aluminum bridge weight
is in line with my experience. I remember selecting it specifically for the low weight.

    Perhaps aluminum vs. brass thing?

Fender hi-mass is cheaper than hipshot. I like them. I also like the cast bridge on American series Fender.

Have put on a Fender HMV. Works a treat. Also swapped out the pickups to 62 CS. Best upgrade ever: much more depth and sweep with the tone control. The stock MIM pups were too squeaky for my tast (with highs off). Tip:for the HMV bridge a 7/64” allen hex is required (not a standard size in metric EU

I have a Fender Deluxe with a Fender High Mass Bridge, its nice, just wish you can change the saddles wish you can change the saddles to brass or S.S.
My other P bass has the Hipshot Kickass with Brass saddles and I love it, or the Omega has good reviews too, way cheaper than the Hipshot, do not know if the Omega saddles can be changed out.
