high pitch squeal from tone pot

    Hi,
    I have a Fender Jazz bass with a mexican control harness. Over the past couple of weeks I've noticed something odd. It seems my tone pot will generate a high pitch squeal. If I tap the knob I can make it stop temporarily. I'm assuming I will likely have to change the pot but, figured I'd post it hear in case there is a simpler solution to the problem.

    Try using a bit of contact cleaner on it - that may clear it up.
