higher quality fittings

    I've heard this expression for years. What exactly does
    higher quality fittings refer to? What would be the difference
    between say a Wilfer and an American Standard in reguard
    to fittings?

    At least tuners, endpin, and probabaly tailpiece wire. It could also indicate ebony instead of cheaper wood for the fingerboard and perhaps the tailpiece.
