Highway One Jazz with Micro-Tilt Adjustment ?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by MichiBass, Jan 15, 2006.

  1. Hello,

As far as I know, Highway One Jazz Basses have no Micro-Tilt Adjustments.
But I found a strange pic on ebay : an Highway One Jazz Neck, and it has a round piece of metal, is this the Micro-Tilt adjustment?
    If not, what is it?
    Thanks

doesn't look like a piece of metal to me. i thought the micro tilt's were 3 bolt necks

  3. The metal plate would be where the adjustment screw pushes up against the heel of the neck.

The actual screw would be located where the neck plate is.

  4. It's the plug for the bottom hole for the truss rod methinks.

  5. OK, now let's post a pic with a Micro Tilt adjustment, to see the difference.

    I have none, post please!

  7. Sorry, I meant INSIDE, to see if it has the same round as in the first pic. And Yes, today's american series has micro tilt, and not triangular neck plate.

    You don't want micro-tilt anyway.

  9. Oh yes, I do !

It's cool to have an adjustment for the neck - body relation. I think it is very usefull.
I had a Yamaha RBX 375, and had a 3 mm action on 12th fret with MINIMAL bridge, if I had the Micro-tilt, I could fix the problem.

  10. +1

you can adjust the neck angle with shims, placed between the body and the neck.

  11. NOT, sounds like DIY unprofessional work.

  12. So, my question is : Is this a Micro Tilt or not?

Don't care if I need it or not...

I think it's already been stated this is not a micro tilt.

  14. what is micro-tilt anyway?

  15. What is it then? Bubble-gum?
That's why i wanted a pic of a real micro-tilt, to see the difference.

A Micro-tilt is a thing, that helps you adjusting the angle between the neck and the body. I think it's very usefull .

  16. Here is a late 70's Jazz Bass neck with Micro-Tilt:

Nothing unprofessional about shimming a bass neck. It's often better to adjust the angle of the neck eith a shim rather than rasing the bridge saddles all the way up. I had tried all my regular adjustments to the setup of my jazz, but when my luthier shimmed the neck on my jazz the action was suddenly lower and more even than ever.

  18. Well, I think the Highway One neck has the same round metal as this.
But the Highway One has no hole, where to adjust...

    SO? Highway One Jazz owners?

    Does it have a MicroTilt?

If it did, it would say "with Tilt Adjustment" in the specs on the Fender web site......but it does not.

  20. OK, let's say it has none.

    What is that round thing?
