    Straight from the Hill website...
    35"scale~24 fret~16" radius
    jumbo-Dunlop #6100
    1 9/16" @ nut, 2 1/2" @ 24th fret
    Wenge fretboard~Maple neck
white mother of pearl 1/4" dot inlays
    Body material - Mahogany, Alder
    Wilkinson bridge
    Pickups Bartolini soap bars "BB4"
    Pre-amp - 2 band Bartolini

It's the 80th bass or guitar made by John Hill in 2003. Made in August according to the serial number. Subtle black sparkle finish, currently strung up with DR black beauties with a lot of life left in them.

Now, here's the fun stuff...this bass is extremely easy to play as the neck is the smallest front to back I've ever owned. The neck feels very slippery...very fast neck. You feel almost like your hand is gliding over the back of it. It's hard to explain. It's a neck-through and has tons of sustain. Very modern, hi-fi sounding bass. (I'm playing it through a gk1001rbII and a schroeder 1212r at the moment)

The bass is also wired for active/passive via a push/pull volume pot. There isn't a whole lot of volume drop going from active to passive either. There is a gain trim pot in the control cavity if you'd like to change it a bit. The Bart soapbars have a nice sound to them with a little more edge than I've experienced in the past with barts. I like it! There's a nice wide variety of tones in the bass that are useable in a variety of situations.

The bridge is another fantastic addition to the bass. The wilkinson bridge can be used to change the string spacing of the bass. Each saddle is basically on a track and can be loosened and moved to your desired spacing. I currently have it at about 18mm I believe. There's also a brass nut.

    Here's a couple of pictures...

So, I'm mostly looking for trades or trades + cash (from you, not me) I have the modern tone covered by another bass in the arsenal and this one isn't getting the play time she deserves. I have a long list of basses I'm willing to trade for

    MTD 535's
    Sadowsky Metros
    Zon's
    Modulus
Fender P's or J's (I sold my '76 P not too long ago...bad move on my part...)
Lakland - Bob Glaub, JO, DJ Duck Dunn, Hollowbody, etc.
    G&L's - L2500, ASAT semi-hollows
    Ernie Ball SR5's
Gibson Les Paul (bass not guitar)
    etc, etc, etc.

As you can see, I'm not horribly picky. I can also include an incase slim bag to even something out a bit. Please PM or email me with offers or questions. Thanks!

i went over and played this bass (while making a trade for another bass)
i'd never heard of Hill, but i can vouch that it's definitely a boutique-level player's bass.
    very very nice...

Just wanted to add that Jon has been making extreme quality instruments for years. I have met him personally, and he has made 2 guitars for my top bro. If it has Hill's name on it, it's good.
