So I bought a gb7 style d-tuner in gold to match my cirrus. Well, it doesn't work! The shaft is way too short to fit the headstock. I even tried it on all my other basses that take the gb7 style tuner, same result.

Indeed I intend to contact them to find out what the deal is, but it's got me pretty frustrated after spending a pretty penny on it.

    Anyone else encounter this?

Should I just try and sell it outright and forget the whole deal?

  2. Mine came installed on a custom. I notice that the geared portion sits 1/4" or so further behind or lower than the rest, but the post is in the same position relative to the others. There are many different models of these things- maybe they shipped you the wrong one. You should definitely contact whoever you got it from- they should be able to help.

This happens sometimes with thicker headstocks. Email Hipshot, their customer service is excellent and they'll help you out plenty.
