I hope this is the right forum.

I have an idea for a mod on a bass. I want to add hipshots to both the tuning keys and the bridge but I want the tuning keys to be able to go from E to low B and the bridge on to go E to A (forth above) I was wondering is it possible to get hipshots that can detune this much of a step?

I'm also presumming that this will need to be done on a graphite neck bass.

So all in all i'm thinking of gettting a 5 string bass doing this mod so the standard tuning will be EADGC then it can drop to BEADG or tune up to ADGCF so I will have the range of a seven string on a five string. Kind of a hyperbass but not.

If I wanted this set up would there be a preference in the bass neck material (so as not to snap off if I were to leave it in ADGCF for a couple of weeks). What about stings as well?

    Thanks for any help available

I have a D.Tuner, they can reach down to B, but the string gets ver floppy.
