Hiss on my Nemesis

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by FunkyMonkCP, Sep 28, 2004.

  1. Alright, first off, I've done a search. I've gone through 13 pages of a search for "hiss". Nothing helped me. So...

    My Stuff:
Modulus Flea 4 with Basslines pickup and Aguliar OBP-1 preamp
Nemesis NC-210 - All my EQ settings are flat.

    Problem:
Whenever I play a note I hear a noticiable hiss just under the note. It almost sounds like my ODB-3 overdrive pedal. It's not really loud, but it is noticable. It doesn't happen on lower notes, just notes on the D & G strings. On high notes, it becomes more noticiable. I've messed with my gain settings, volume settings on both my amp and bass, nothing has helped.

It didn't do this when I first got the amp back in early august. The only thing I can think of is that I plugged my bass in while the amp was on and I heard a loud pop. I read in one of my manuals that that is battery discharge and that could damage my amp. Could that be what caused it? I only did it once.

Any help with this would be great. Thanks.
