i will soon be a proud owner of the ampeg ba-115 combo amp... but i had a question for all those who own one or have experience with one. Ive heard that it gives off a hissing noise on the highs... and its not a factory defect or anything like that... so my question is.. is that hissing unbearable? is it so bad that i should start lookin around for different amps again? please let me know.. thanx

I haven't heard any hissing from mine.

The only problem i get from mine is when i mute the string and hold my bass headstock straight up i pick up the oldies radio station here :p

I happened to read several testimonies saying the BA-115 hisses when you crank up the treble control. From what I read, one solution is to use the style 2 and increase the gain instead of increasing the volume.

    Hope this helps,

I guess some do and some dont. Mine didnt. I still use it once and a while (like now, cause I had to send my head for repairs), nice little amp. :)
