I always would like to have a Hofner violin bass. Yet I know there is no way for me to get one like the one that the beatles have since its over £900.0!!

One time I went to thomann.de and I saw the Hofner Icon, I was like omg it is so cheap for a Hofner bass, but it Icon a bad bass? http://www.thomann.de/gb/hoefner_ignition_beatles_bass_vsb.htm

And then later I heard there is also a Hofner bass, the CT series. The price aren't cheaper than the Icon but it that mean all the stats are better than that one?

Somehow in Hofner site I cannot find the Icon bass, why? Is Icon a real bass from Hofner? :S

By the way, is CT crapper than the old one? Is it that much different can you explain more? :D

I wonder what differences between Hofner CT violin bass and the Icon B violin bass. If I'm buying one which one would you prefer more(CT or Icon)?

Also do you guys know a website that I can buy Hofner, in low prices, and can be trusted also in uk?

Both the Hofner Contemporary and Icon are real Hofner basses, but made in China. The CT has German electronics, and a wood post down the center. So, it will have a more modern sound, while, ironically, the Icon is a hollowbody like the originals made in Germany, and therefore probably sounds more like a 60s Hofner.

I have an Icon and have had no problems, I gig with it, practice, it is a fine bass.
