Holding the guitar, while not playing...

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by kiwlm, Mar 1, 2004.

  1. I frequently bring my bass downstairs to practice, one day I was thinking... hmmm, how should I hold the bass up, while not playing it! I usually hold it at the neck, near the body, but was wondering if that is going to add extra tension to the neck.

My Yamaha RBX270's body have got an extra curve (like a cow's horn) from the body, and I thought maybe I would just hold it there, coz that's pure wood.

Any comments? or basically just dun care at all? :ninja:

I always hug it to my body while caressing its backside. Safe and sound and sometimes it gets me excited.

i hold mine with palm around fret side where the neck meets the body so my palm rest on the fretboard and my fingers wrap around over the body. Its nice and balanced there and is so light and secure that i forget i have a bass in my hand and throw my hand around wildly and put small knicks in my headstock and body alot(im not one for cosmetics).
  5. Meh...I just throw it onto the stand,if it doesn't make it...it doesn't make it...

The other day I scooted it across the floor with my foot.
