I've recently acquired a real appreciation for holly tops when combined with the right fretboard/hardware colors. Here's a few of my favorites- feel free to post your own.

Holly is the white or off white colored top wood you see in the pictures above.

+1 with that 6 string singlecut.

It's such a "modern" bass - singlecut Elrick design is pretty far from a Fender Jazz - but it has such a "classic" look to it.

    I wonder who owns it?

There is a beautiful Fodera 'Beez-Elite' bass that has a holly top... it looks awesome. I believe there is a picture on the Groove Shoppe Archive page. +1... those tops look great. I kind of went for that look with my Sadowsky NYC Olympic white.... not the same thing, but in the same ballpark.

Can't forget the Yin-Yang. I really like the look of the one with an ebony board.

Just seems so expensive....for white hehe. I can appreciate it, but it seems like a waste of money to me I guess. Especially like that Fodera. Save yourself the money and paint it white hehe.

Some of the others, least they have done something that couldnt be done with paint. I will admit though, Ive never seen a holly top in person, just veneers dyed various colors. Maybe there is grain or something I dont see?

I like some of those examples of Holly Tops (that kind of sounds like a band name).

Kind of simplistic, but elegant. A nice change from those super swirly and busy burls you see on high end basses.

But just as expensive as those burls hehe.
