    ok so I have found a really nice set of 5.1 speakers and now I have to get a reciever to power it. so anybody out there know of any good receivers around $300 that are are 100w per channel and low thd. :D

    I bought a Technics SA-DX950 5.1 DTS receiver two years ago, and so far so good. It sounds great for it's price point. DVDs sound incredible once you get your levels set for all of your speakers.

    I am not a home-audio freak though... So take it for what it's worth.

    A good place to look for information on this subject is www.hometheaterforum.com - highly recommended.

    BTW, I'm a big fan of Technics/Panasonic, Sherwood, Pioneer, and Onkyo in that price range. I'd avoid Sony.
