I just read the Dean EUB post and it got me thinking.
There are alot of EUB's out there that are basically frettless basses (not bowable) with the same scale lenght special pickups and smaller (sometimes no) body.
Why not mjust get a carvin neck-through neck(costs about 200 bucks) and build your own stick style EUB. Near as I can figure the cost could be around 450 bucks.
    Neck 200
    tuners 50
    bridge 50 bucks
    piezoelectric pickup 80-150 bucks
    nut blank 4 bucks

That only leaves a stand and mounting hardware although a good preamp would not be a bad investment.

Has anyone made their own EUB before, or tried something like this?

Yeah, I saw those, how are they, they look great for the money. What do they sound like? Is it worth the extra 200 bucks? (it looks like it might be.)
    Review?
