Here's some info... Me: Hi, That's a funny name, hooker's bass machine. What does it do? But the "hooker's green" refers to the color. It's one of the more famous shades of green as used by artists. It's made by mixing prussian blue and gamboge which is a deep mustard type yellow. Too much info there?
Not at all. I just realized who you are! I follow your YouTube channel and the video I posted was from another site. You are one of my unsung heros. Keep up the good work...!
I got this pedal today. ITS AWESOME!!! Its has a really cool tube vibe, not tons of gain on tap at all really but then again, its not a dist, its a OD. And a grand OD it is IMO. It can be warm, tubey, yet grindy, the low end retention is phenomenal. I should wait to say that until I jam with the band on Thurs, but even with the bass control all the way CCW, it low end seriously thumps, so I can only assume that it will be great in the mix. Its got great flavor too. It responds well to my fingers as well. Im about to pick at it and see how that goes. I can only imagine itll be da bomb. So far though, WOW. What a great OD! Its already on my board front and center
I had hoped that you were gonna like it! I really like the sound of it as well. The price isn't too bad either. Thanks Greg...!
Here's one place.... http://www.tonefactor.com/One-Control-Hooker-s-Green-Bassmachine-Overdrive-p/ochgb.htm
Dang it. Now I'm gonna have to try one! But you mentioned a bass control....where is that? I see treble, volume, and drive.
Hehehe. It is sweet. Def check it out if you can. It's on the side. It's like an accessible inner trim. I barely have it up. Like barely. The low end is great with it fully CCW.
Ahh I see! Great timing, I just bought a Barbershop and a TC Spark Booster which are two of the best low gain fat OD's I've heard yet..now this thing pops up!
It can also be ran from 9 to 18v. Added bonus. For me, it's perfect. Small, 9/18v operation, grindy if need be, plenty of bottom and more to spare, simple controls. I'm happy.
