Hooking up 2 Combo Amps

  1. A friend of mine and me both have 200 watt combo amps. Hes playing a show tonight and his 200 watt amp just doens't cut through his two guitarists 100 marshels, How would you hook up the two amps to each other for it to work properly?

    You can run a regular cable to the effects send (out) jack of one combo amp (the 'master') into the effects return (in) jack of the other (the 'slave'). In this configuration, the master's pre-amp is used, (and the master's power amp of course drive's the master's speaker), whereas the slave's preamp is bypassed, and the incoming signal goes into the slave's power amp, which in turns drives the slave's speaker.
