It's true...Blink is recording their new cd, and filming the whole thing. The newest video has Mark playing this cool little slap thing in it. I thought it was pretty cool.

  11. Hoppus slapping? what does he do smack the string with his pick?
  12. this, my friends, is where we can learn the lesson of restraint to fit the band. of course he can slap. he's been playing bass a long time. he can probably play circles around a lot of us.

DHC: you raise a very good point, however I must ask: why play in a band that requires you to hold back much at all? Should one not try to showcase all they are capable of by putting themself in the right spot?

I do think it would be awesome if in the next blink album it was totally a musician album. Everyone showed off their actual massive talent. And mark hoppus made us all look like... well mark hoppus.

Because sometimes our tastes don't coincide with what we excel at. For example, I CAN sing. Pretty well...Better than my band's current lead singer, anyway. However, I don't like to, so I don't do it. :D
  19. no. one should play the type of music he enjoys. if there's no room for slapping in that type of music, then so be it. leave showing off for guitar center.

  20. Ive started to see a downfall in slappers at the guitar center. Nowadays I just see like 14 year olds playing Black Sabbath and old guys who are just beginning. Now im the only Slapaholic at the guitar Center : (.
