I'm interested in a carved bass circa 1960-1970 of German descent, adjustable bridge, pickup, ebony fingerboard... i don't know the maker
This is my first bass..... maybe, i haven't had a chance to play it yet and hear the tone,

Do any of you have any experiences good or bad with German basses from this era?

My first carved bass was a 60's German carved bass. It was a really good sounding bass, and looked great too. However, I couldn't tell you anything about the bass you want to buy without playing if you take my meaning. EVERY bass is different. Different sound, different feel. You be the judge. If it sounds good, and is in good condition, go for it.
