If I give someone my make, model, and serial number can you find out what year my bass is because it is unknown to me.
There are a few pages here that may help you out depending on where and when it was made: http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=dating+ibanez+guitar&btnG=Google+Search&meta=
aaawww my Ibanez was born in Sept of 2005 (also a GSR-200-same color but mine has 4 knobs)...grrr and I need a tuning key for it, I got jipped from someone on eBay who failed to mention it was missing one. Now I have to order a whole set (4 of them) but I can't afford it now...So she sits patiently waiting to be played! while I sit impatiently wanting to play!!
I found out the date of my Ibby when i took the neck off to do some work a while back. My TR-505 Expresionist's body was made in July '96 and the body in June of '96. (I might have those backwards) You can also find out but looking up the serial but it still didn't really tell me much when i loked up mine.
Found this little page...just input your serial number and it shows you the info. http://www.gui****aterproject.org/ibanez.aspx My Info came back as: Guitar Info Your guitar was made at the World Plant, Korea September 2006 Production Number: 25
Now does anyone know how to find the model # from the serial number? Bought this thing used but cannot find a model number on it. It's the BTB 5 string series.
I had an Ibanez lawsuit strat and I took possesion in 1980 I got rid of it in 06 and was curious how to decipher the numbers.I read that they made 9999 guitars a month the serial # breaks down to month year and # but you bass look newer so the numbers may not work the same I banez archives can help here is a typical situation 1978119987 it would be 1978 Nov 9987 of 9999 made hope this helps also not sure if month or year was first on serial number but write out number and see
The only place I've consistently found model numbers is in the neck pocket: So, next time you change the strings, take off the neck and it should be there.
