How do different color pickguards look on the GL sig?

  1. Since I have been plotting buying one for a while, I think I am going to set aside some cash for a bit, and get one.

I was just curious as what pickguard combo's look good on it besides the white one.

Pics will be highly appreciated. :bassist:

I think mint green, black, and tortoise PGs look pretty good on the GL sigs. The stock white PG seems too bright to me.

Somebody had a black Jazz with a blue periloid pick guard.
    A cool unique look.
  4. Bump.

  5. Another bump.
  6. This is a Reggie Hamilton sig, but the colors are there. Very nice. I like that combo, as well as a Tortoise guard on black. I'd really like to find a pic of one of those. Geddy has a custom shop black jazz with Tortoise pickguard that he uses for Driven (drop-d E string). Really nice!

I had a Mirror PG, Black/White/Black, & a black pearloid guard on a Geddy Lee I owned. All of them looked AWESOME!!!!!!

The Geddy Lee sig with the black pearloid pickguard definitely looks best if you put chrome p-bass knobs on it, and even better, those with abalone caps. I don't know who did it, but I've got a pic or two saved on my comp and it's GORGEOUS.
  10. Didn't Nino do that? Guess he just didn't post a pic of it.

Nope. I never took a picture of the bass with the pearloid pickguard & I put the Sadowsky knobs on it.
  12. The black pickguard looks great, but I am afraid if I had a mirror pickguard it would end being covered in sweat and fing prints, and look as good as it should.

So I really interested in seeing the black perloid on it. And see how it interacts with the fretboard.

  13. OH MY GOD, theres a bass inside your bass!!!!!!!!

    :p :p :p

Phil Lynott plays a black P-Bass with a mirrored pickguard on the Thin Lizzy live DVD I can see finger print marks on extreme close-ups of the bass, but not on body shots.

I like the look of the mirrored pickguard, but right now I've taken the stock white pickguard off of my standard jazz, and I'm looking to cut some plastic to make a lip that covers the edges of the neck pickup cavity to the control plate.
