How would you say their tone and versitility compare between these 2 humbuckers?.Is the G&L preamp a contributing factor in its unique tonal range?.Thanks

I've heard great things about the antiquity line, and from recording s I've heard the bassline line sounds pretty good too. Personal opinion I suppose, but G&L pickups are great pickups.

The G&L humbuckers sound great in the L-1000s, which are passive. Personally I think the G&L pickups are the best I've heard, but of course that is subjective. I just bought one to put in a franken P, to make it a franken L-1000.

Ebay. There were two of them this weekend, I bid on both and won one. I only needed one, but I would have taken the other one anyway.

You can also get them brand new from Buffalo Bros guitars (and maybe other G&L dealers, but I've gotten quotes from Buffalo Bros before). You'd be surprised how affordable they are.

Uhhhhhhhh no. I have Seymour Duncans in my ESP, and that thing totally rocks out. Next to EMGs they're the best pickups IMO.

Definitely the MFD's. They're the hottest pickups I've used.
