Anyone have any suggetions?
fine steel wool would be my suggestion...make sure you dont leave any stay strands behind on the pins when you're reinstalling it in the amp, that would make fireworks!
Also, Lord Valve used to send samples of some sort of fluid that was meant to clean tube pins and sockets.
cotton bud soaked in switch cleaner?
Yep. Well, it depends how bad they are. If they won't come clean, you can use a "burnishing tool". It's basically a flexible metal nailfile, very thin. Just work it around the offending pins, till they're nice and shiny.
