Take it to a dinner and a movie? Serious answer, idk. Fender website is where I'd start. You can email their CS and they might be able to help.
You won't get past first bass if you rush things. http://www.fender.com/support/articles/japanese-instruments-product-dating/
Goodness. No one suggested to give chocolate? Don't be shy. Just be yourself. Don't go to the Geddy Lee JB; let the Geddy Lee JB come to you. As mentioned, begin with the Fender website and/or their customer service.
Covertly ask about events that occurred during the bass' childhood, works every time for me. But seriously, the pots might have a date on them.
It really depends. Given the fact that Geddy himself is Canadian and the bass itself is either Mexican or Japanese I'm going to suggest either: 1)Sushi and a Hockey Game. Maybe some Saki. or 2) Taquaria and a Hockey Game. Maybe some Patron. C/S, Rev J
I thought I might have some work to do here but it looks like the rest of you have it pretty well covered...
take the neck off and read the date stamped in the neck pocket that's what I did with mine it said 07-01-09
Light touch and soft music for ambince, then maybe a little Cabernet and some Brie, should be able to relax and get your Geddy undressed without much fight.
Don't get too dependent or needy. Make sure you play with a Music Man every now and then to keep her interested. Err, I mean Music Women, unless you roll that way.
