How do i get a really smooth deep tone?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Musik Meister, Mar 16, 2002.

  1. Hi, I have a Fender jazz bass MIM and an ampeg b100r.

I get mostly trebly metallish sounds tones, how do I get a really deep smooth tone like Eric Wilsons?

Use the Deep switch on the B100R. Roll of the treble and high-mids, and Boost the bass. This should give you a smoother deeper sound. It won't cut very well in a band situation though. You need to boost the Low-mid to cut through.
