How do I get my bass to smell like an Ernie Ball?

Is it their guitars or their cases? EB guitars have a unique smell about them. Sounds crazy unless you've had a sniff and know what I'm talking about. Anyone know what creates that Ernie Ball aroma?

Newt still has both of his eyes so it can't be that...

bake a batch of sugar cookies, let incubate in the case for about a day,+ or - a few hours to taste, er, scent

While EB guitars have a decent scent to them the smell is not ideal for all musical situations. The smell of a P bass on the other hand fits in with all kinds of music. If your music smells like country the smell of a P bass works for that. Of course everyone knows the P bass is the smell of Rock n' Roll. They smell great with Latin, Jazz, or whatever.

It's the oil/wax finished neck. The smell is fantastic, like fresh surfboard wax. It permeates the case padding too.

My Luthite bodied Ibanez smells badly of petrol if it's left in the case for any time.
This is still preferable to opening your case and getting a blast of stale tobacco when smoking was allowed in venues.

I have owned likely a dozen EBMM basses and didn't notice anything different stank-wise.

Maybe 25+ years of gigging has hurt my smelling.

I had to laugh. But in all seriousness, I know what you mean ....it's the case really. My Hofner and its case - the first sensual encounter is olfactory - you just smell Hofner like nothing else. None of my other basses have this, but the MM case has its vibe. My Ricks don't ooze any nostril titilation and my Fenders don't either. Alembic - clean nose too.
