You know how Fieldy's bass sounds? It's really rattle-y and loose sounding. How do I get that sound?
oh no...with the search function, man...honestly, detune your bass, crank the bass and treble, cut all of your mids and turn the tweeter on your amp all the way up
I would do a search for deatailed answer, this Q? has been asked before....
the short answer is detune your strings, (Korn uses lots of lower tunings) and scoop out your sound w/ an EQ. I believe he uses a setuop where his highs & mid sare emphasized and lows are reduced.
lastly, ever see him play? bang the stings w/ your fingers, palms, etc
I'm not too keen on his sound, but its cerrtainly reproducable
yeah, i dont know why you would want that, but if you find his tunings on some kind of tab website, im sure you can find it.
I would imagine you'd scoop all the mids out, probably using a bass pedal as well, boost the bass and treble, de-tune and then slap/beat/smack the strings to hell. Bout it.
Nice Brand New quote in your sig, Macbeth56!
thanks, do you know who the other quote is from?
Someone said you can approximate that tone by throwing a load of Tic-Tacs down a stairwell.
Hope that helps.
- Gonna have to try that one ...
I'm not that fond of Korn - only like a few tracks but I do like that rattely sound, although only in its right place (heavy rock)!
Add some overdrive/distortion to it and slap/pop to taste.
There you go!!!!!
Tis my new sig quote
Credit where credit is due - Steve Lawson said that to me a few weeks ago!
It shall be changed then in my sig...gotta give Steve the credit!
