How do I know if I need new strings...?

    I'm not sure. I play constantly like 2 or 3 hrs. a day almost, and my D and G kinda sound like twangy, and I can't explain it. Also, what are the best strings you can buy, like the Rolls Royce of Strings, cost doesn't matter, expensive is ok.

    I think when the strings starts to lose the twangy metallic sound. You will notice that the newer strings are the more bright sounding (twangy metallic sound) they are, and that the older the duller sounding. I like DR low riders. GHS B52's are also nice. @.130-.45 on 5 string.
