How do I know if "long scale" will suit?

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by semborg, May 5, 2005.

  1. How do I know if the scale given at strings will suit my 35" Cirrus?
I have already ordered Daddario halfround 6 string set - And they only comes in "long scale".
    Will they suit?

D'Addario "Long" Scale is suitable for 34"-35" basses.

    You should be cool.
  3. Cool
  4. It's been my experience with D'Addario that you need the super longs to fit a Fender if you running thru-body. I'm guessing that based on that, you'd better be running top-mount if you're going to use their regular longs for a 35". Good luck.

long scale typically means 34", extra long being 35"+. It also depends on what bridge you have. Long scale D'Addario XLs do not fit my 35" modulus.
