How do I solo like Buckethead?

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by AmazingGracePlayer, Aug 23, 2007.

  1. Buckethead's skills really amuse me, and I'd like to know how he does it. Most likely I'll never be able to play like he does, but I'd like to at least try. Is there a book or (preferably) a website that teaches how rip out those crazy guitar solos?

Transcribe as many of his solos as you can, get a Digitech Whammy and study his style as much as you can. Then you'll be well on your way to being a half baked carbon copy! :D
  3. What does the Digitech Whammy do?

Octaves and harmonies and stuff. Learn how to tap really fast too.
  5. I can tap really fast, but I don't know WHAT to tap really fast...
  6. Seems like you lack musical theory. Am I wrong?

Don't forget the bucket preferably without grease stains. Really though you have got to hear what he's doing. Also try to hear what you do to.
  8. Well, I know music theory. If you ask me a scale or chord, I can tell you what it is and I can play it. But if you give me a chord progression and just tell me to solo over it, I don't know what exactly to play.

If I could see what he plays, it'll help a lot, because he plays too fast for me to just hear the notes.
