How do MIM Jazz 5's compare to Lakland 55-01's?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by subsonic, Sep 8, 2005.

  1. I wonder if someone who knows about these two basses wouldn't mind comparing their pros and cons and giving their general opinions of the two, because I can't decide which to buy. Is one far better than the other, or are they in different leagues altogether?

    Thanks for your help!

do you want a jazz? if so, the 55-01 probably won't work.
Do you want a really well made bass with great customer service? if so, the Lakland is definately the way to go

seems like it's apples and oranges to me

This is a no-brainer to me... Lakland.

Totally irrelevant. This is a myth.

I'd go with the Lakland all the way.

For me, the Lakland is a no brainer.

  10. Thanks for the input, guys! I'm not hell-bent on a jazz bass and I'm more concerned with build-quality... it sounds like it's a go on the 55-01. :bassist:
