    ^ Yeah, that!

The motorcycle also helps quite a bit, though my cruiser preference comes from the land of the rising sun.

  2. I can usually stay pretty calm under stress. I just buckle down and do what has to be done.

YES! It has so much potential for mixing. I've been going for Jack Daniels as my stress relief lately though. Dr. Daniels always knows what's bothering me and can help.

Effexor XR, Klonopin, Pain Killers, Toprol XR Wine or Beer. I have Anxiety disorder and without my meds I take panic attacks. I had two nervous breakdowns in a years time before taking my meds. The pain killers is for my degenerating elbow and my F-kd up back. The wine or beer takes the edge off when Im having a real bad day.  :scowl: :D :bassist:

P.S. I am happiest when playing my bass. :D ;) :smug:

I don't quite remember since it's summer vacation for me and it's been about a month since i've had any intense stress what with graduation and piano auditions for various things, and final exams and whatnot, but I'm pretty sure I sleep, or just lie awake on my bed thinking about somethin else, or I think about somethin else like hmm which girl should I go out with....

then there's always playing music really loud on my stereo or following along on bass, sometimes at the piano, and other musical outlets...

um...computer games? but i do those anyway

buying new gear!!!! (unless i'm stressed that i don't have money for gear)

Doing some skipping and kickboxing helps. Even just a light skip for 10 minutes is good to refresh your brain and get things running smoothly again.

  16. I think the closest to intense stress I've had was when my Mum chose to go off dialysis, then just after she died, my Dad told me he had terminal cancer and died only 6 months after my Mum. They seperated when I was 17.

With my Mum I turned into a complete control freak and tried to convince her to go back to dialysis or take a transplant I even offered one of mine! She was bi-polar and depressed and didn't buy it. The whole time it was just me me me and I didn't support my Mum at all. I argued with my sister a lot she buried her head in the sand too and was the executor of the will...I was lied to about arrangements being made she let the estate rot so I had to take over and yeah...it was stressful!

I took a lot of it out on my missus and started training BJJ some 5 days a week, pummelling punching bags at home and stepped out on my missus as well.

With my Dad, it wasn't his choice (bowel cancer then some) so I rallied more around him, but again I was pretty selfish about the whole thing. I only cried once or twice he asked me not to and yeah again I went between withdrawing inside myself to expressing my anger to my family (missus kids etc) and training crap-loads.

Oh yeah and I smoked a crapload of weed - like buckets of premo gear morning to night on days off! :)

In a way I'm kinda glad I went through the process it hilighted to me how selfish and problem plagued my childhood influence was (Mum) and the person my Dad really was deep down and how much he just wanted love to reign all.

Despite his high and mighty work work work attitudes he was an idealist and dreamer at heart his favourite song is Imagine by John Lennon and sorry, I'm going on now but boy it feels good thanks MM :)

Anyway, it's been close to 2 years since my Dad died and I can't think of any situation that has been as stressful as that and since then, I've had an assault charge, a Human Resources blowup at work (I owed them 170 hours but HR didn't know my managers covered it up until it surfaced 3 weeks ago and I'm left to pick up the pieces). And I quit pot recently too.

In short, I don't get so stressed anymore sometimes to my detriment and when I do feel stress I'm able to rationalise it pretty well nowadays. I play my bass, or work in the garden, or get on talkbass and argue with people to chill some, play with my kids etc etc :)

Wow, what a rant. Sorry people!

Ever seen "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey"?

It's amazing how many fans of Halford's don't know he's gay :eyebrow:

  18. He was the singer from Judas Priest and Fight, right? I didn't know he was gay either. He sure can sing I loved "Into The Pit", can't say I was much into JP though!!
