As in Bob, the guy, the pedals, etc. Is it --- Mewg (as in "ooh, ooh") Moog (as in "oo" in book) Mug Mohg (as in long O sound) Friendly disagreement with a friend, gimme a hand fellas.
ive never had to say the word out loud before but if i was i would say it like "mood" but ending with a G.
Thanks Alvaro, it looks like if I'd listen to my own advice and search a little bit I would have found that on my own. :scowl:
That's how I said it until one of my professors in college corrected me. I disagreed, but it turns out he personally knew Mr. Moog. Talk about being owned.
hahaha, that cracked me up! Great story! I also pronounced it like "mood" with a 'g'. My world feels crushed now. Well, slightly different.
I mispronounced it for so long (Moog as in moo cow) that I still slip up sometimes. My synth/MIDI class professor in school, in days long ago, pronounced it correctly, but I always thought he was out of his mind for pronouncing it that way. But he was right of course! EDIT: that was an awesome class too. We had a few nice vintage analog synths in the lab: two Minimoogs (one of which had severe tuning problems once it warmed up), an Oberheim, a Roland Juno, an ARP 2600, and some other digital keyboards that were new at the time.
Sounds like I've turned up some good thoughts. For Piezo, it reads to me (a copy editor at a newspaper in Louisiana, of all places) like - Pee-aye-so P.S. Kurt, your avatar owns. Is that from him saying "KHAAAAN!!!" ??
