No, I'm not talking about changing my name. Will Crawford is a great name for a bassist living in the U.S., but as a songwriter and performer of brazilian music, I feel I'd fit the part better if I had a more brazilian sounding name. I have dreamt up a great artistic name, but i'm not sure how to go about making it official. does anyone have an Idea how to go about it? Does anyone else have an alias for another aspect of their music? Any thoughts?

    Hele..oops, I mean, Will C.

I'm pretty sure that on the PA forms used to copyright your songs with the US library of Congress there is a section for pseudonyms. That would give you an official document with your real name and your alias on it. There may be more to it though, I'm not sure how it works when it comes to collecting royalties through ASCAP or BMI.
