I've been playing bass for a little under a year now, and i've gotten to the point where i can get through almost all of flea's stuff. there are a few exceptions, one of which is "nobody weird like me". I just want to know what he's doing in it, because the tab hasn't given much help.

if I remember well, it's been so long...
he slap the open D string and pop the octave on the G string very fast.
  3. From what I remember from my early high school days, he also throws in the C (5th fret of G string).
    A| D-------D---------D
    with second
    note omitted)

Play the above pattern 3 times and then -

    Play the above once.

That should be the main riff. (I could be wrong cause it's been many years since I heard the song.) I've used notes instead of tabs and I couldn't really illustrate the rythms, but if you listen to it, you should be able to see it.

thanks.. its actually alot easier than it seems. I prefer sheet music too. but i'm too lazy to see if it even exists for the song.

  10. If you mean the fingered bit after the explosion, it's hammerons.
