How good of an idea is this?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Stanley Design, Jan 31, 2005.

  1. I have been looking for a 4ohm cabinet to go with my other 4ohm 6x10. Yes my amp is stable at 2 ohms. What I am sorta interested in getting is the new "traynor" 1510 (2x10 plus 1x15 in one box at 4ohms) So my stack would end up being 210 then 115 then 610. Would the sound be incredibly sweet or incredibly suck? I may eventually end up with something like two 1510's. But for now, has anyone ever tried this?

I haven't seen this exact rig but I'm curious to know how it sounds. I'm considering something similar with Carvin Cyclops combo amps. Be sure to let us know how it sounds.

That would sound similar to a 8x10 and a 1x15. I think the 10's would provide the punch but the 1x15 would have to be pretty powerful to compete with that many 10's. It'll probably sound great though, and weigh more then a hippo. So......:bassist:

no way to be sure without trying it. could be fantastic, could be suck-a-rama.
