Learn lots of scales and memorize them! Its the best thing you can do.

after i learn scales i don't see how to use it to write music.
i have the whole major and minor scale in notes but also how do you put it down on the fretbaord.
i mean like what is the pattern?
i have read every lesson on the internet and they don't help me much.
i guess i should find a teacher this summer.

Well for writing music and scales and music theory you should definitely get a good teacher.

But it gets pretty tricky trying to teach improvisation. Just something you gotta work on yourself I guess.

A good example of how scales can be used in songs is Immagrant Song by Led Zepplin. Check it out.
