Love that show. Flipped past it tonight and they were making gut strings.

I can't unsee that. Super-gross, but I get why they are so expensive now.

Pretty similar to a chicken factory; raw animal parts sitting in big buckets of goop everywhere....

Used to love watching this show with my kids. This is one:

  4. You say gross, I say cool that another part of the animal is actually being used rather than wasted.

Both can be true in this case.

  6. My half-brother's family runs a slaughter house/butchery, I'm probably just inured to it by now. Doesn't seem particularly gross to me.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I bought a D and G from Damien Dlugolecki in person (he lives just outside Portland OR) and he walked me through his process, showed me the buckets of raw gut, and how the machine works. It was incredibly cool. Really nice guy. Smelly basement.
