Hey everyone...I got a Burnt Apple SR5 as a graduation gift from my grandparents (you may or may not have seen my other postings about this). It is my understanding that the burnt apple is a rare and discontinued color...so I was just wondering if anyone knew roughly how many Burnt Apple SR5s were actually produced, regardless if it is really rare or not? I'm just curious, thanks!

  2. If you email Ernie Ball I am sure you can get a response eventually.

They are not THAT rare. There is one down at a local music store here. In the future they might be worth more, but for now it's all just colour preference. :)

No offense Hofbrauhaus, but i don't believe that Burnt Apple is a rare color. I don't know exact numbers since i'm not from EB, but it really depends on how many people wanted a Burnt Apple SR5. I think it was discontinued earlier this year. I could be completely wrong in everything i just said so take it as you will. Hope you are enjoying your Ray5 as much as i enjoy mine. That's all

Hey Hofbrauhaus, i've got one in a 4 stringer. Love that bass. I'm pretty sure they sold the burnt apple for 2 years so i'm sure that there are quite a few as of now, but in the future, you never know.:)

No offense taken CamMcIntyre, I was only inquiring if it was rare or not. I didn't buy it in that color because it was discontinued or I thought it was "rare" or anything like that...I just bought it because I thought it was purdier than all the other ones I saw :) I'm sure I'm enjoying my ray5 as much as you are enjoying yours though...it sure beats the Ibanez I was playing on before!

By the way rayzak...that is a sweet looking 4 stringer you have there. Attached is a pic of my burnt apple ray5 (crappy pic, but oh well)...looks like they could be brothers :p

Congratulations on the new Stingray, Hofbrauhaus. It's beautiful. I'm green with envy. Maybe I should mention this to my Grandmother -- although I graduated in 1986.

Hofbrauhaus, i know how you feel entirely. I moved up from a DeArmond Pilot Plus 5 that i got for $160 during the blow out. For me, it was down to about 4 different colors-Cherry Sunburst, Burnt Apple, Vintage Sunburst, and i think Honey Burst. Then i the shop that i got mine at had a rosewood boarded Ray5 in Cherry Burst so i ordered one almost exactly like-only difference is that i got a maple board. That's all
