I have seen the “How many guitars do you have thread.” Looking at all of the small, large, crazy pedal boards and the funny sounds threads. There appear to be more “types” of some pedals than others. But, I have also really enjoyed seeing the different brands and their take on sounds. Just wondering, do you have to catch them all or did you buy a pedal for a specific sound even though you had a very similar one? Just trying to keep it interesting.
I currently use 10 pedals: Digitech Bass Whammy--> EQD Westwood--> Pigtronix Bass Fat Drive--> EHX Freeze--> MXR Bass Envelope Filter--> Zoom MS60B--> Ibanez Echo Shifter--> MXR Carbon Copy--> MXR Bass Compressor--> TC Electronic Ditto Looper That is way more than I actually need, but I honestly love them all and the Echo Shifter and Whammy in particular are fairly indispensable for the sounds I go for, especially if I'm doing a solo/looping set. In a band situation, I usually bring them all, but if I want something stripped down, I go with: Westwood-->Zoom MS60B-->MXR BC I do plan on getting a Synth pedal to go at the beginning of the chain too. The Keeley Synth-1 is looking pretty great for that, but the Source Audio C4 Synth is also kinda calling my name. I think price will be the deciding factor there.
Probably a 100 or more, been collecting a while. Fifty years! 1969 My first pedal was a thrown away Thomas Organ Wah Wah pedal that I took to a TV repair shop and had it repaired. The sprocket but had loosened on the shaft. My next two pedals were a EHX Muff and Maestro Phaser. Carried it all around in a snare drum case. I learned early to buy used, most things can be fixed, take care of your goodies and always do an idiot check, always.
3. Boss Tu-3, Fuzzrocious 420 fuzz, Ibanez CSMINI Chorus. I also have a Radial Pro DI and a Voodoo Lab pedal power 2+ on my board. Selling/trading the 420 fuzz in order to get a VT Bass and either an OCD or a compressor.
Turbo Tuner, Smoothie compressor, Barber Linden, and WamplerEuphoria. I also have a Solid Gold FX Beta and a Field Effects Manifold Drive but I'll probably let those 2 go as the Linden and the Euphoria cover the same ground more or less.
I have about ten. Other than my tuner, they are all currently sitting on the shelf. I can never get my envelope filters to sound good, and since I purchased my Mesa Boogie D800+, with a matching 2x12 cab, I have had no need for any pre-amps. Other petals I have are for specific songs for a band I am no longer in. Gotta say it again. I love my Mesa Boogie!
