    Lets see.

    Right hand:
    1. Palm muting
    2. With picking finger - quickly after picking
    3. With other fingers near bridge
    4. Thumb pointing straight down
    5. Thumb on the string above picking finger

    Left hand:
    1. Lifting off finger after fretting a note
    2. Fretting with finger on top or over the fret
    3. With pinky or more fingers on bridge side of fret

    Misc:
    1. Foam at bridge
    2. Foam at Nut
    3. Arm
    4. Face :D

    What do you think.

  2. There's only one way: by making it stop ringing.:)

  3. OK, here's a few more:

    -turn volume down.
    -turn amp off.
    -unplug the bass.

It won't actually mute the strings but close enough.
