  1. I was just wondering how much you guys spend on your equipment.

This includes EVERYTHING, basses, effects, amps, cabinets, and anything in between

My whole rig is about $5500

    Please try and ballpark it

    This should be fun........:) :D

Dude, you should've added a few more categories up top. :) Including two recent additions (one not here yet) I've got $15,500 wrapped up in toys (mostly my basses)... and I'm not even close to upper-echelon.

please add more $ options to this, I'm thinking we're gonna have to go into the 40,000$ range if JT posts !!:D
  4. including my 42" scale 4 string fretless acoustic bass ( :D ) my swr rig, my warwick, my musicman and all its upgrades, my peavey amp, cords, pedals, racks, tubes, my pile of new strings, etc i squeak in a little under $10k.

but with a good 5 string fretless...i'd be as set as i NEED to be - not saying that if i got a lot of money or something i wouldn't find plenty of stuff to spend money on, but for the amount of money i have right now - that's all i can really see myself spending money on.

    that's actually about right. :D
  6. cool!!!

    not a bad guess..............:D
  7. Well everything in that I can think of it comes to about £6,300 (GBP) so if todays exchange rate is 1.42, that's about $8,950. Geeze, I never actually added it up like that before!!! Small fry compared to some (eh JT?) but it suddenly seems like quite an expensive hobby!!!!

I haven't personally spent that though - I've used a lot of combined birthday/christmas presents over the years (birthday is 30 days after Chrimbo!) I could actually add about another £1,700 for guitar stuff over the years which is another $2,400 for my backup hobby!!!

I still don't understand how I could afford all that beer over the years as well!!!

jeez i feel like a little kid now! but this makes me feel better, as my family and friends often say i spend too much money on bass stuff.

i would say my stack cost me a total of a little over $1k, my basses were $1k, $650 and $500, and pedals, chords, cases, etc was probably another $500 bucks. so that puts me in the meager range of:

Shoot - I posted $500-$1000 thinking you meant amps only. :( ME IDIOT!

Anyway, let's see... total seems to come to about $3600.

Gimme a break, I've been a poor student for the past 4 years!

well, here, let's break it down...

and then the 9 custom basses total out to be ~$32,000 (and that's with a discount  )

    so yeah, about $40,000

    I'm actually in the $5000 - $6000 range.
  12. current equiptment owned == $500
total over last 20 years == $5200 (not including current crap)

I've got to stop coming here... I'm just getting back into playing after a 5 year absense and struggling to budget $250 to get a Peavey Combo 300 from the local pawn shop so I can at least start jamming with a drummer again.
  13. I'm in the $10K range give or take a couple hundred dollars.

  15. I'm still spending but I cnecked $5000+

    This week I bought a
    • used Ampeg SVP-BSP preamp
    • used Peavey DCP1000 power amp
    • Korg DTR-1 tuner
    • Furman PL-Plus power strip
    • SKB 4-space Rollex rack
and am still cabinet shopping. I'm looking for a 4 ohm D210XLT and a 4 ohm 15" cab - but it looks like all I have to choose from there is Peavey or Carvin.

I've got around $10,000 invested in my rig. And it sound BAD!!!!
  17. Hmm...

I've paid: $2710 for all my gear total

    It's all worth: $3820

I've sold things and gotten back: $260

So I've paid a total of $2450 for everything, after counting the sale of stuff.

That's a lot in just about a year and 1/4.
  18. Damn i clicked the wrong one.
I clicked the 500-$1000 but it's more like 1000-$2000 and soon I'll get my new Warwick Corvette so that will add a few $$$ to it.

    50- misc(strings, Strap, Picks)
120- effects(roktek metalworker, ernie ball volume, DOD envelope filter)
I try and stay away from Multi effects.. 1 I dont like digital sound 2. I like to tweak everything up the ass

Amps- $1100. Worth? Upwards of at least 2k. Eden rig was 950, MF value of about 2000 even, Crate 15" from 80's, 150, worth? I figure it'd cost about 400 (based on BFX100 15", now) new.

    Basses: 850. Ibanez, 200, MTD K5, 422 (500/gig bag), VMI Cruise, 150 (thankfully gone.)

Tha's about it. Overall, $2000K(50, c'mon I spent it on strings...). Not bad, considering there's a full Eden rig and an MTD in that $2000.

Amps will go up soon to about 1500, and then over 2.3K, and then basses? Whooo boy. Don't get me started.
