How much is a good price to pay for a fender p 72?

  1. I was just wondering what a good price would be to pay for i think a Fender Precision 1972 im guessing on that because the serial number is a little lower than a bass i know thats a 1972. Its sunburst no paint chips pretty much in perfect working condition. Serial number 546960. Everything looks to be just fine with it. thanks any help would be great.

    My Tom Wheeler reference says the 500,000 series was made from Sept. `73 - Sept. `76.

    If you're talking about buying it from a reputable dealer who checks out the playability/electronics and backs up their "condition" claims, (e.g., "mint" "clean", et al), I'd say a hair over or under a grand is what I've seen that vintage selling for at Bass Palace.
