How to change background for Windows 2000? Corporate version.

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by rabid_granny, Nov 28, 2002.

  1. Hey, I'm kinda sick of seeing the corporate logo on my computer but I can't figure out the backdoor to the background setting. The usual tabs are missing but there's gotta be a way.

I gonna put up a Roy Fokker Robotech JPG...heh heh.

    Stuck on a rock !
Are you running on a network ? If your network has a policy on it (and I'm guessing you are and it has) then its next to impossible without an admin equivalent password.

Its probably best to talk to your sysadmin nicely though and see what he can do for you.

Standard bribe for me is a packet of biscuits..

If your on a stand alone though I can tell you how to do it !

Right click on your screen. Pick Active Desktop. Pick Customize My Desktop. Pick the Background tab. Link it to your favorite graphic. No sweat.

I think he is on a computer at his work. The admin probably disabled all that personalization (is that a word? lol) crap. Theres not realy a way around it if thats the case.
