Could someone give me some tips on how to de-fret this no name bass i purchased at a pawn shop. I would greatly appreciate it.

  2. Please do an archive search for this subject. I have misplaced the URL to a wonderful step by step (with pics!) site that shows the whole process. You can find it with a little patience.

If it is a no name bass it might not even have glue holding the frets. I defretted my no name bass and my frets had no glue on them so I didn't have to use a soldering iron. I also made a post just on this subject with two links that I used, so please search.
